Shabana Mohammed – Founder
SM Healing Hands Wellness Center was founded to continue the legacy of Dr. Seshagiri Rao, who dedicated over 20 years to supporting the Autism and PANDAS/PANS communities. The center was established after Dr. Rao’s retirement in August 2020.
I began my healthcare career in 2011 as a Registered Nurse after completing basic nursing education. I then worked at Parkland Hospital and later at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center, where I earned my Progressive Care Certification and developed a passion for teaching and mentoring other nurses. Driven by a thirst for knowledge, I pursued a Master’s degree in Nursing and became a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2018.
In 2018, I began working with Dr. Seshagiri Rao at the Allergy and Asthma Treatment Center in Plano, Texas, where I was introduced to holistic and biomedical treatments for children with special needs, particularly those with PANDAS/PANS. This experience fueled my passion for integrative and functional medicine. I furthered my education in these fields by completing specialized courses in functional medicine, nutritional health, and autism mastery.
Through SM Healing Hands Wellness Center, I continue to provide relief to families dealing with complex health issues, especially those affected by PANDAS/PANS.
